How to Get Rid of Black Spots on Legs Naturally

How to Get Rid of Dark Age Spots on Your Skin Naturally

Quick Fix for Dark Spots

If you have dark spots on your skin and you want them gone now, try this trick that works especially well on elbows: Halve a lemon, then sprinkle salt on one of the cut sides. Rub it on the spot (or, if it's your elbow, just jab it right into the lemon half!) to exfoliate and lighten.

Yogurt and Parsley Mask

This mask will reduce the look of age spots and prevent new ones from forming! Mix together 2 tablespoons of sour cream or Greek yogurt with a teaspoon of chopped parsley. Once or twice a week, apply a thin layer to your face, or whichever area you're concerned about. Rinse off after 15–20 minutes. Over time, you will start to see the spots fade. Yogurt and sour cream contain lactic acid that will lighten spots and parsley is packed with vitamin C, which nourishes the skin.

Buttermilk for Age Spots

You never seem to use up an entire carton of buttermilk after buying it for a recipe, right? Luckily, there's a second use for it: Keep your skin looking young by dabbing it on brown spots or other discolored areas. A study recently found that people saw big improvements in their skin after using buttermilk on age spots each night for three months. Allow it to dry on the skin before rinsing it off with cool water.

You Can Call Me Aloe

Apply pure aloe vera to your age spots. Aloe helps exfoliate skin and promotes the growth of new cells, which can help diminish the appearance of age spots.

Erase Age Spots

If you're looking to eliminate unsightly age spots, sometimes you have to get serious! That means whipping up this stinky solution that works better than anything else we've ever tried. Grate a medium onion onto a cheesecloth or sturdy paper towel, then squeeze the onion juice into a bowl. Mix in 1 tablespoon each of white vinegar and hydrogen peroxide. Dab the mixture on the age spots, twice a day (keeping away from your eyes), and keep it in the fridge when you're not using it. You should see results in a week or two!

A Lemon Lift

Over time, lemon juice applied to the skin can help lighten age spots because of its gentle bleaching properties. An easy way to get the benefits is to cut a few slices of lemon and place them directly on the spots for 10 minutes a day for about a month, or until you start seeing results! (Discontinue if you experience any irritation or redness.)

Tropical Mask for Age Spots

To fade age spots, mash some fresh pineapple or papaya and apply it to the area for 10–15 minutes, then rinse with warm water. These fruits contain an acid that helps lighten, exfoliate, and heal skin. Plus, it doesn't hurt that you can imagine you're on a tropical vacation!
